Redsnow 0.9.8b7 has just been released, as we find out from MuscleNerd himself. This update was released just after Apple updated the IPSW for the first generation iPad on iOS 6 beta. Apple didn’t change the name for the new file, so Redsnow 0.9.8b7 handles both versions of the IPSW, the original and the update.
For tethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.5 and 4.2.10 was added explicit support, meaning that users will no longer have to point Redsnow to IPSWs of iOS 4.3.4/4.2.9 when performing a jailbreak.
The procedure remains the same for jailbreaking. Just follow this link on how to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 6 for a more detailed installation procedure.
To start the jailbreak, you need a few things:
- Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 for Win or
- Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 for Mac (click on the link to download)
- Download a copy of iOS 5 Beta 5 and 6
- The latest beta version of iTunes 10
Remember, this is still a tethered jailbreak, which means you have to connect you device to a computer to boot into jailbreak state.
ENjoy!
